Easy Air Fryer Carrot Fries (3 Ingredients!)

These crispy Air fryer carrot fries are the easiest 3 ingredient healthy side dish or delicious snack. You only need carrots, avocado oil, and chili lime seasoning, and you can make the most delicious vegan treat Ready in less than 20 minutes, these crispy air fryer carrot fries are just what you need.

Oh my, these delicious air fryer carrot fries are a healthier and easier alternative to traditional French fries. They’re crispy, sweet, and need only three ingredients. Plus, since you make them right in the air fryer, it takes way less time than the oven and also drastically reduces the amount of oil needed. This healthy side dish pairs so well with burgers, pizza rolls, peanut butter and jelly, or even meatloaf for a yummy balanced dinner.

Whether you're looking for a healthy snack to serve your kids or just need an easy, side dish to go with dinner tonight, this healthy recipe is sure to hit the spot. These sweet carrot fries are a fun way to get picky eaters to get their veggies in, and if you serve them with gluten free chicken tenders, you'll seem like a rock-star parent! Healthier than traditional fries, simpler than deep frying, these easy air fryer carrot fries are one of my new, go-to favorite recipes and I'm sure they will be one of yours too!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE AIR FRYER CARROT FRIES

  • Carrots: I used large carrots and cut them down, but you could also halve baby carrots or carrot chips
  • Avocado oil: You can substitute it with olive oil, or even use olive oil spray to seriously reduce excess oil
  • Chili lime seasoning: This is a family favorite seasoning! I use this one, or you can make you own with this recipe (see note below for more options)

HOW TO MAKE CARROT FRIES IN THE AIR FRYER

Prepare your ingredients

Peel and cut carrots into matchsticks

Season carrots

Air fry at 400 degrees f for 20 minutes, shaking halfway through

Serve when crispy with your favorite sauce
  1. Use a vegetable peeler to skin the carrots, then cut them into ¼ inch matchsticks and place into a large bowl
  2. To the bowl, add the avocado oil, chili lime seasoning, and salt. Toss to evenly coat.
  3. Place carrots into the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes, pull the basket out and shake, then air fry for another 8-10 minutes until crispy

DIFFERENT SEASONINGS TO TRY!

If you’re not interested in chili lime seasoning you could easily replace it with one of the following:

  • Taco seasoning
  • Lemon pepper
  • Adobo seasoning
  • A blend of onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika
  • Or go sweet and sprinkle with a little bit of brown sugar!

EXPERT TIPS FOR THE BEST CARROT FRIES

  • Read the whole recipe before beginning
  • Cut the carrots into equal sized carrot sticks (about ¼ inch thick)
  • You could also cut baby carrots in half, or save even more time by using store-bought carrot chips!
  • Use olive oil spray to reduce the excess oil even more
  • Adjust the amount of seasoning to your taste preferences
  • Watch the fries in the air fryer and take them out when they’re cooked to your liking
  • Serve with ketchup, a spicy mayo, sriracha, or your favorite dipping sauce

  1. How do I store leftovers? You can keep any leftover crispy carrot fries in an airtight container in the fridge. 
  2. How do I reheat these? Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees f for 4-5 minutes, They won’t be as crispy though.
  3. Are carrot fries healthier? It depends on your definition of healthy! Since these are made in the air fryer you need A LOT less oil than regular fries.
