WHAT YOU NEED FOR SOURDOUGH FRENCH TOAS

- Sourdough Bread: This is a great opportunity to use stale sourdough, but you can use fresh bread as well! I like to use thick slices of this sturdy bread for best results
- Almond milk: My favorite to use is Simply Almond. However, you can really use any non-dairy milk that you like.
- Arrowroot starch: This helps the sourdough French toast recipes get a crispy, golden exterior without any eggs
- Brown sugar: I used Pure Cane to keep this French toast refined sugar free, but you could also use coconut sugar, regular sugar, or maple syrup as well!
- Vanilla Extract: Don’t skip the vanilla, it adds a mouth-wateringly good flavor to this recipe

STORING AND REHEATING LEFTOVER SOURDOUGH FRENCH TOAST
STORING: While this French toast is best served fresh, you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
FREEZING: This recipe is also great to freeze and have an easy heat and eat breakfast. Place cooked and cooled French toast into a freezer safe bag and store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
REHEATING: The best way to reheat is either in the air fryer or a toaster oven. Cook for 5-6 minutes at 350 degrees F and it'll come out hot and crisp like it was freshly cooked. You can also reheat it in the microwave or oven if you must.

FAQs
Yes, you can! Place cooked and cooled French toast into a freezer bag and it will last for up to 2 months.
It does not matter at all! I used homemade sourdough bread, but you can use store-bought.
As far as regular French toast goes, I have to say that I think sourdough is the best! It has a slightly sour, tangy taste that offsets the sweetness of the maple syrup and totally balances the flavors.
However, I think that brioche makes the best French toast casserole, so it really depends on the recipe!
