Air fryer breakfast sausage is quick, easy, and healthy. Cooking it in the air fryer means that you can have a delicious breakfast that is ready in just 5 minutes, perfect for busy mornings! Fresh or frozen, patties or links, you'll never have to fry sausage in a greasy pan ever again once you try this healthier, quicker, and quite frankly, tastier method.

For a small portion of my childhood, we lived with my grandparents while my parents were buying a house. My Poppop was very old fashioned, and that meant Sunday morning breakfasts were a big to do. I'm talking fried eggs, toast, fruit, and of course both bacon and sausage. Those memories of Sunday family breakfast are engrained into my brain, and whenever I have sausage all of those happy memories come flooding back. Nowadays, Sunday mornings are a bit more hectic, between getting up, ready, and trying to make it to church on time, I don't have time to bee bop around the kitchen. I need easy, fast, and healthy.
Enter in Air Fryer Sausage Links! This is a super easy air fryer recipe that you can make in under 5 minutes. The best part is that I can set the sausage to cook and walk away, no more standing over the stove top to make sure they don't burn. I can set it, forget it, and go get ready until the beep. Once it's cooked, my family and I can enjoy a healthy, protein filled breakfast that will keep us satisfied all through Sunday morning activities. This is the easiest way to cook sausage in the shortest amount of time possible. Healthy, easy, convenient, you definitely need to give it a try!

You can store and leftover air fryer breakfast sausage links in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 days. This is a great way to meal prep breakfast for the week, you can make a big batch on Sunday and reheat as needed throughout the week. To reheat, the best way is in the air fryer or on the stove. In the air fryer, reheat at 380 degrees f for 2-3 minutes. On the stove, put sausage in a non-stick frying pan with a lid and cook over medium/low heat until it's heated through. About 5-7 minutes.

EXPERT TIPS
- Read the entire recipe first
- Times listed are for regular breakfast sausage that is about as thick as a finger, please be aware that thicker sausages would need to cook longer
- You can also make air fryer sausage patties- use this post for time reference
- Raw sausage need to reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees f. Please use a meat thermometer if you would feel more comfortable
- For easy clean up, line the bottom of the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper and poke holes in it so the hot air can circulate. Put the sausage links on top and cook as directed.
- For best results, start by air frying with the lowest cook time and adding more time as needed. That way your sausage doesn't overcook.
SAUSAGE BRANDS I RECOMMEND
My family has had a lot of Sunday morning breakfasts that always include eggs, toast, bacon, and of course-sausage! Over the years we have tried many brands, here's a few favorites:
- Applegate Farms: My personal favorite is their chicken and apple sausage!
- Johnsonville: They have a few flavors, but our family favorite is the one seasoned with maple syrup
- Jones Dairy Farm: This company has a wonderful turkey sausage
- Bob Evans: Last but not least, Bob Evans has good sausage links, but I prefer their sausage patties
FAQs
- Can you freeze sausage after it's been cooked? Yes, put fully cooked links into a freezer bag and freeze for up to 2 months.
- Can I air fry homemade breakfast sausage? Absolutely, but depending on the size of the sausages, cook time may vary.
- What do I serve sausages with? You can serve it with pretty much any breakfast! My favorite is with either French toast, pancakes, or mixed into scrambled eggs with spinach and tomatoes. You could also serve with air fryer egg in a holes or make a sweet potato hash and mix it in!
