Equipment:
- Air fryer
- Butter knife & spoon
Ingredients:
- Bread: I used potato bread, but any kind that you and your whole family like will work
- Peanut butter: My favorite is Skippy Natural or Crazy Richard's
- Jelly: If I'm not using homemade, I like to use the Good Good brand because it's low in sugar. However, you can just use your favorite jelly
- Strawberries: These are totally optional, but I like adding thinly sliced strawberries to mine
HOW TO MAKE A PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY IN THE AIR FRYER
- On one slice of the bread spread your peanut butter, making sure to leave a small border around the edges.
- On the other slice of bread spread the jelly, again, leaving a small border.
- Place thinly sliced strawberries on the peanut butter side, then sandwich both sides together
- Put your pb&j sandwich into your air fryer basket and cook at 360 degrees F for 4-5 minutes, using a spatula to flip it halfway through the cook time
- Carefully take your sandwich out of the basket, let it sit for a minute, then cut in half and enjoy

STORING AND REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS
I think these are best served fresh, but if you have leftovers you can keep then in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
The bread will get soft, so just reheat in the air fryer at 350 F for 2-3 minutes to toast it again.
EXPERT TIPS
- Make it with your favorites! This recipe is super versatile when it comes to ingredients used
- Leave a small border around the slice of bread when spreading the peanut butter so it doesn't leak out into your air fryer basket
- Be sure to flip the sandwich halfway through so both sides get golden brown
- Let the fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cool for a minute or two before cutting so the melty peanut butter doesn't get all over
- If you've got picky eaters, try cutting the sandwich with a cookie cutter so they have a fun shape to eat!
FAQs
You can use an kind of jelly that you like! Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, grape jelly, and flavor will work.
This air fryer pb&j works with any type of bread. I used potato bread in this recipe, but white bread, sourdough bread, whole wheat- you can use any.
If you're looking to make it healthier use a peanut butter without added sugar, use a low sugar jelly (Good Good is my favorite!), and make it with a healthy bread like a sprouted grain or sourdough.
I use a Cosori 5.8 and I think it's the best! It cooks evenly, there's no hot spots, and anything I cook comes out delicious. Another reason I like it, is that it's the perfect size for a family of four. I could easily fit 4 sandwiches in there if I needed to.
Nope! There's no need to preheat since you're just toasting the bread.
Since they're frozen you need to cook them a little longer. I'd say cook at 360 degrees F for 7-8 minutes.
