Units Scale
  • 1 pound large strawberries- washed and dried (about 15-16)
  • 10 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • Toppings as needed (see note below)

Instructions

  1. Add white chocolate melting wafers to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between each interval until all of the chocolate is melted
  2. Hold the strawberry by its stem, and dip 3/4 of the berry into the melted white chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off into the bowl
  3. Place the berry onto a parchment lined baking sheet and repeat step 2 with the remaining strawberries
  4. Allow the chocolate 8-10 minutes to harden, then serve an enjoy

Notes

  • Room temperature berries: You want the strawberries to be at room temperature to prevent the chocolate from cracking as well as helping it to stick. the condensation that can build up from the rapid change in temperature isn't good for the chocolate.
  • DRY strawberries: On that same note, it's important to make these with really dry strawberries. Either dry with a paper towel or absorbent tea towel to remove any water before dipping.
  • Right kind of white chocolate: White chocolate chips are not meant to be melted down and used as a coating. You'll want white chocolate melting wafers or even a baking chocolate bar for these white chocolate strawberries.
  • Work quickly: You will want to work quickly before the chocolate begins to harden. I suggest prepping everything beforehand so you're ready to go.
  • Toppings: Get creative with the decorations! You can finish with sprinkles, nonpareils, or even crushed Oreos immediately after placing the berry onto the tray. You want to do it before the chocolate hardens. You could also finish with a drizzle of dark chocolate for a bold, yet elegant look. This gets done once the chocolate is hard.
  • Storing: White chocolate strawberries are best enjoyed within 2 days, but will last for up to 5 if stored in an airtight container in the fridge
