Homemade Honey Ginger Tea is a simple, soothing drink. It's sweet from the honey, a little spicy from the ginger, and can even help support your immune system. Take a sip and enjoy the calming, healthful benefits of this warming tea.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 inch piece of ginger- peeled
  • 2-3 teaspoons fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. Use the edge of a spoon to peel your ginger, then use a sharp knife to cut it into thin slices
  2. Place the water, honey, ginger, and orange juice into a small saucepan, and heat over medium heat for 4-6 minutes
  3. Once the honey ginger tea is warmed through, strain out the ginger slices, pour into your favorite mugs, and enjoy

Notes

  • Use a spoon: Peeling ginger with a spoon is the easiest way I've found to do it. Plus, it's safer than using a veggie peeler.
  • Strain your tea: Big slices of ginger aren't appetizing to drink, so be sure to pull them out before serving.
  • Honey to taste: I personally like the flavor that just 1 tablespoon of honey adds. If you want it sweeter, add a little more.
  • Storing: Keep any leftovers in a jar with a lid in the fridge for up to 5 days
