Bone Broth Hot Chocolate is your favorite cozy time drink, but with a few added nutrients! A rich, decadent, creamy hot chocolate is made with a combo of chicken bone broth and whole milk. With 13g of protein, gut healthy nutrients, and minimal sugar, you'll feel good about drinking this healthy hot chocolate.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup chicken bone broth
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2-2 tablespoons sweetener of choice- sugar, maple syrup, monk fruit, etc.

*Optional- marshmallows or whipped cream for topping*

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized pot, add all ingredients
  2. Set over medium/low heat and whisk occasionally until cocoa powder is dissolved and hot chocolate is heated through
  3. Remove from heat, carefully pour bone broth hot chocolate into a mug, top with marshmallows and enjoy!

Notes

  • Don't use a flavored bone broth: There's some companies that have flavored bone broth, but for this you only want plain.
  • Heat over the stove: I've found that the stove gives a more even heating experience.
  • Add flavors: You can add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract or peppermint extract for a festive twist
  • Fun toppings: Bone broth hot chocolate can be topped with marshmallows (homemade or store bought), whipped cream, or a sprinkle of crushed candy canes!
  • Double the recipe: Want to make some for you and a friend? You can easily double (or triple!) the recipe to share.
