This strawberry matcha latte is a beautiful, sweet drink you can make in under 5 minutes. It needs just 4 simple ingredients and, just like my oat milk matcha latte, is vegan and dairy free. Layer or blend, either way this creamy matcha is a great alternative to coffee.

When I'm craving something a little sweeter than a regular matcha latte, I love whipping up this creamy matcha latte with strawberries!

It's a quick and easy recipe that you can make in under 5 minutes. Chop and sweeten your strawberries, add your milk, and pour over your cooled matcha for a delicious drink that's a perfect afternoon pick me up.

This latte is healthier than ordering at a café, costs a fraction of the price to make, and is made with 4 simple ingredients you probably already have on hand. Skip the Starbucks line and make this creamy homemade matcha latte instead!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR A STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE

Kitchen Tools:

  • Small mixing bowls
  • Whisk

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries: You can use both fresh or frozen that have been thawed
  • Matcha powder: You can purchase this at the grocery store or find it online at Amazon
  • Sugar: I prefer to use monk fruit to keep mine sugar free. You could also use white sugar or maple syrup to sweeten
  • Almond milk: My favorite dairy-free milk is almond, but any such as cashew, oat, or coconut milk will also work

HOW TO MAKE A STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE

  1. Begin by chopping your strawberries and macerating them in a small bowl with 1 teaspoon of sugar
  2. Next, prepare the matcha powder by whisking 2 teaspoons of matcha powder with ¼ cup warm water and let cool
  3. Place the macerated strawberries in the bottom of a 12 ounce glass, pour over the almond milk, and finally pour in your cooled matcha.
  4. Additionally, if you prefer, you can add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy
  5. Serve your latte room temperature or iced and enjoy

VARIATIONS

  • Iced: Add ice before you pour over the matcha
  • Raspberry: Substitute the strawberries with raspberry compote
  • Chocolate strawberry: Blend 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder into your latte
  • Sugar free: Replace the sugar with monk fruit or stevia

EXPERT TIPS

  • If using frozen strawberries, let them thaw first
  • When dissolving your matcha powder make sure the water isn't above 170 degrees F
  • Layer or blend your strawberry matcha latte
  • Serve with ice if desired

Ceremonial grade matcha is a higher grade and is more often used to make matcha tea. Culinary grade is slightly lower in quality and used more for baking, in smoothies, and of course, lattes!

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 cup almond milk

  3. Place the macerated strawberries in the bottom of a 12 ounce glass, pour the almond milk on top, and finally pour in your cooled matcha.
  4. If you prefer, you can add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy
  5. Serve your latte room temperature or iced and enjoy

Notes

  • If using frozen strawberries, let them thaw first
  • Make sugar free by replacing the sugar with monk fruit or stevia
  • If water is above 170 degrees F you matcha will be bitter
  • Replace the almond milk with any non-dairy milk
  • Serve room temperature or iced
