INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR OAT MILK HOT CHOCOLATE

- Oat milk: Oat milk has a sweet, slightly nutty taste and is the creamiest non-dairy milk you can find at the grocery store.
- Cocoa powder: Use an unsweetened variety such as Hershey's.
- Maple syrup: Be sure to make this with pure maple syrup instead of an artificial one
- Chocolate bar: I like to use a vegan dark chocolate bar and chop it into pieces. My favorite brands are HU and Beyond Good.
- Vanilla: The vanilla extract boosts the flavor, so don't skip it!
Substitutions:
- Oat milk: Substitute this with any non-dairy milk such as almond, cashew, or coconut milk
- Maple syrup: You can also use regular sugar or brown sugar. If you're not vegan, honey will work
- Chocolate bar: Vegan chocolate chips work, you'll need about 1 ½ tablespoons
- Vanilla: I don't suggest skipping it, but you could substitute with peppermint extract

IS OAT MILK GLUTEN FREE?
Most oat milks are gluten free, but always be sure that it is gluten free certified. While oats themselves are gluten free, it's common for them to be cross-contaminated with a gluten containing product.
Oatly, Califia Farms, and Elmhurst are all brands that are certified gluten free and found in most grocery stores.
