Ingredients Needed

- Honey: For the best results, I suggest using a local honey to reap as many benefits as possible. If you don't have local honey, raw honey is the next best thing!
- Lemon: This homemade tea is best with fresh lemon, bottled will work but it has a much more concentrated flavor
- Water: You'll want to use warm water, but not boiling so you can still keep all the benefits of the honey
How To Make Honey Lemon Tea
1. To a mug, add the honey and lemon juice and stir together
2. Heat water to 95 degrees F, then pour into the mug and stir
3. Allow time for the honey to dissolve, then garnish with fresh lemon and enjoy

Expert Tips
- What honey to use: It's best if you can use local honey because the bees source the pollen from local plants. If you're allergic to pollen, eating local honey may help combat those allergies!
- Fresh is best: Bottled lemon juice is much more concentrated and has a stronger flavor. I suggest using fresh instead!
- Don't overheat the water: Honey loses many of it's nutritional benefits if it's exposed to high heat, so keep the water around 95 degrees F
- Stir till dissolved: You'll want the honey to be completely dissolved in the water, so stir until you don't see any traces
Recipe Variations
- Make with tea: You can brew actual tea, then stir in honey and lemon after. Green tea, black tea, or chamomile tea are all great options
- Vegan: Use maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan option and different sweetness
- Add ginger: Peel a small knob of fresh ginger and brew it into your tea when you pour the warm water. You can also try this recipe for honey ginger tea!

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! I love sipping on a cup of honey lemon tea when I have a sore throat because it's very soothing.
Yes, there is no problem with drinking lemon and honey every day. In fact, it may help your overall digestive system healthy.
If honey is heated over 98.6 degrees F it can lose many of its essential nutrients. That's why I suggest to only heat your water to about 95 degrees F.
You can, but I don't recommend it. Bottled lemon juice is much more concentrated, and therefore has a stronger flavor that may be overwhelming in a small cup of tea.
