STORING AND REHEATING

This isn't really the type of recipe that you save and reheat, but if you have any leftover toast that you must save, wrap it in a paper towel then place into a plastic bag or airtight container. Keep at room temperature, then air fry to reheat at 300 degrees F for 1-2 minutes.

EXPERT TIPS

  • Use your favorite type of bread
  • Cooking time will vary based on your type of air fryer
  • Cook time will also vary based on the thickness of your bread
  • Don't line the basket with parchment paper
  • Leave a little room between bread slices so the hot air can circulate
  • Brush the bread with a little olive oil or melted butter before air frying to make really delicious toast
  • Dress up plain toast with your favorite toppings

FAQs

Can an air fryer replace a toaster oven?

I think that it can, because whatever you cook in a toaster oven you can cook in the air fryer.

What air fryer is the best to use?

I have a Cosori 5.8 basket style air fryer and LOVE it. My brother's family uses the Ninja Foodi, which has an an air fryer tray attachment, and they love and use theirs all the time. However, I think the best kind is a personal preference that you'd have to find out for yourself.

Can I make this gluten free?

Absolutely! You can use all types of bread from gluten free, to keto, to vegan.

How to I prevent bread from flying into the heating element?

I have not had this problem, but if this is happening to you can pin the bread down to the basket (or tray) with toothpicks.

Can I air fry bagels and english muffins?

Yes, yes, yes! Bagels and english muffins also come out perfectly toasted, just adjust the cook time an extra minute for bagels because they are a bit thicker than regular bread.
