Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound of tomatoes (about 2 large)
  • 4 ounces burrata cheese- at room temperature
  • 1/2-3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. On a cutting board, use a sharp knife to cut your tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices
  2. Arrange the tomato slices on a serving platter, placing the room temperature ball of burrata into the center
  3. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over the top, then tear a few basil leaves and distribute them around the platter
  4. Drizzle over your balsamic glaze and serve!

Notes

  • Slice the tomatoes in equal thicknesses
  • A serrated knife is the best tool to cut tomatoes
  • Serve the burrata at room temperature, so take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before you plan on serving
  • Adjust the salt level to your taste
  • Let your guests cut into the cheese, there's nothing more exciting than seeing it ooze out
  • Serve with extra virgin olive oil on the side if guests want to add their own
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days
