Bacon Wrapped Asparagus In The Air Fryer

This recipe has got to be one of my new favorite ways to eat asparagus. The bacon cooks up nice and crispy, while the asparagus becomes tender, but not overcooked. The whole bundle is basted with butter and maple syrup for a sweet and salty flavor that is out of this delicious.

Besides the flavor, the next best thing about this dish is how simple it is. You just need 4 ingredients and less than 20 minutes.

Pair air fryer bacon wrapped asparagus with chicken and roasted sweet potatoes for a healthy, balanced meal that everyone will love.

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Ingredients

  • Asparagus: I prefer to use green asparagus, but white or purple will also work.
  • Bacon: I recommend using regular bacon instead of thick cut to ensure it cooks all the way through
  • Butter: Salted butter is the best because it rounds out the flavor without being overly salty
  • Maple syrup: This is optional, but I like the sweetness it adds to compliment the saltiness of the bacon

How To Pick The Best Asparagus

There's a few things you want to look for when choosing asparagus. Here's a few tips on how to pick it:

  • The stalks should be firm and smooth. You want to avoid choosing ones that are limp or soft
  • Asparagus that has a rich green color is more flavorful than those that look dull or faded
  • Thicker stalks are better than thin ones, especially when it comes to roasting

How To Make Bacon Wrapped Asparagus In The Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees F and lightly spray the basket with olive oil spray
  2. Rinse your asparagus and snap the ends off
  3. Take 3 spears of the prepared asparagus and bundle them together. Wrap the bundle in 1 strip of uncooked bacon and set on a platter. Repeat with the remaining asparagus
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and maple syrup. Use a pastry brush to baste each bacon wrapped bundle
  5. Lay the bundles in a single layer in your air fryer basket and cook at 370F for 8-12 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked to your liking
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
